1st Day CESAREE, HAIFA, ACRE SAINT JEAN
We walk along the mediterranean coast to Caesarea Maritima, ancient port
and capital of Judea from the Roman and Byzantine period, visit the
Roman Theater and the archaeological remains of the Byzantine period
and the Crusaders.
Continue towards Haifa, panoramic view of the
port of the city from the top of Mount Carmel to admire the
Shrine 'Bab' and the beautiful Bahai gardens. Then to the Crusader city
of Akko, visit the area of the Hospitallers of Saint John and the
crypt, the market of the old town, passing by the port and
the Khan el Umdan. Overnight in Galilee
2nd day NAZARETH,
TIBERIADE AND THE SEA OF GALILEE Nazareth to visit the Church of the
Annunciation and Joseph. Go through the village of Qana to arrive at
Tiberias, the ancient seat of the Sanhedrin and the capital of Galilee
on the shores of Kinnereth Lake. Visit the Capernaum synagogue of the
4th century, and the Church of the Multiplication of Loaves and Fishes
called in arabic Tabgha. Descend along the lake to the river of Jordan,
to Yardenit baptism site of Jesus. Overnight in Galilee
3rd Day THE GOLAN HEIGHTS - SAFED - BANIAS
A visit to Safed the synagogue of Abuhav and that of Joseph Caro,
wander in the neighborhood of artists.
We will go to the Golan Heights. Stop for a panoramic view of Kuneitra
ghost town on the Syrian border.
Then Birkat ram, ancient volcano which became a lake. Stop at Banias,
called Ceasaree Philippi in the Roman times. We cross
Kiryat Shmona the capital of Upper Galilee a few kilometers from
Lebanon.
